Consider a "GREEN" wedding. We at TAIGA VENTURES have been living the "GREEN" lifestyle for almost ten years now so we make it easy for you. We have local suppliers of organic vegetables, beef, poultry and pork. Our caterer uses the best quality ingredients in the preparation of our meals. Chemicals are never used. We are off grid and our water is of the purest quality. Our lighting is provided by candlelight and LEDs. We recommend that you rent a bus or limos to transport your guests to and from TAIGA VENTURES. This reduces exhaust emissions and everyone has the opportunity to relax and not be concerned about driving in the country.

Taiga Ventures has been described as "spectacular serenity", a perfect setting for a wedding as well as for your engagement and rehearsal parties and showers. You will have exclusive use of the site and our complete attention to details. We are committed to making your wedding unique, that special event of a lifetime. It is important that you reserve your date and time early to avoid disappointment.
The Grotto can accommodate 80 guests for a sit down dinner or 100 for a cocktail reception with scattered seating. Tables can be removed after dinner to provide a dance floor.
Our magnificent garden will accommodate any sized tent for those who prefer an outdoor wedding and or reception. The absolute serenity and harmony of the site makes this a natural location for your wedding.
Taiga Ventures is a photographer's dream. There is a plethora of "perfect background" areas for all your wedding pictures.
Transportation
Take the stress out of night driving, inclement weather or choosing a designated driver by engaging a limousine service. Prestige Limousines can provide a 10 passenger limousine and/or a 14 passenger van at a reasonable price. For large groups you may wish to hire buses to bring all your guests to Taiga Ventures. It is approximately 40 minutes to downtown Thunder Bay from Taiga Ventures.
For a truly spectacular arrival, you may choose a helicopter. We are equipped with our own helipad.
Parking
We have 3 parking lots near the entrance to the property but a 5 minute walk to the building. This is designed to keep automobile effluent away from the building. It is also less disturbing to the wildlife that roam the property and the attack of fresh air as you walk the short distance to Taiga Ventures is an invigorating experience. We can provide a shuttle service for those who are unable to make the walk if we are informed ahead of time. Needless to say, the bridal party may bring their vehicles up to the building. We do encourage people to car-pool whenever possible when coming to Taiga Ventures.
Food Services
Taiga Ventures engages Lori Paras of Ruby Moon Catering. She will meet with you to discuss menu choices and your specific needs. Fees for catering are not included in the fees for Taiga Ventures services and rentals. Lori's menus provide a variety of choices, all exemplifying her outstanding talent for superior tastes with flare.
You are responsible for providing your own wedding cake.
Beverages
Non alcoholic beverages such as tea, coffee, soft drinks water and fruit punch are included in the menu. Special arrangements can be made in order to provide and/or sell alcoholic beverages..
The water at Taiga Ventures is among the purest in the area. Because we are situated on a glacial esker, the water from several underground springs travels through thousands of feet of gravel, filtering out the impurities and balancing the mineral content before being pumped from our drilled well.
Set up and Decorating
It will be your responsibility to contact the florist, cake supplier, DJ, band, and decorator to inform them of the time for deliveries and where you wish each item to be placed. Approximately 2 hours before your event is set aside for these deliveries and for decorating.
Policies
Our fees for a wedding are determined by your particular needs and the length of time that you will need the site. Extra services would entail additional fees. These would include but not be restricted to decorating and dismantling services, bartender services, etc.
We are a smoke and fragrance free environment. Please refrain from using any scented products and ensure that all your guests are aware of this policy. An outdoor smoking area is provided with appropriate butting containers. Please do not throw butts on the ground.

Although children are welcome at Taiga Ventures, we are primarily an adult facility. We require children to be supervised by an adult at all times. This is a wilderness site and children are naturally curious. As hosts we cannot assume responsibility for children attending an adult function.
You are responsible for any repairs to damages or losses incurred during your event and will be billed for these. A refundable contingency deposit is required by the time of the final payment, 30 days before your wedding.
Reservations
We will meet with you to determine your needs. Your wedding date and time will be reserved with a signed contract stating all inclusions and a 25% non-refundable deposit to secure the reservation. We will set up a payment schedule for you with the final deposit due 30 days before your wedding..
As your wedding draws nearer we will meet with you to finalize details to ensure that everything you wanted and dared to hope for becomes a glorious reality.
Evelyne Reid is a licenced Wedding Officiant with All Seasons Church, and would be pleased to perform your ceremony.
Rental for a wedding ceremony is $125 per hour. If you wish refreshments additional charges will be added.
We do not have a licence to serve liquor.
Rental charges for a wedding that involves more than 4 hours will be charged as a full day at $1000 for 100 guests with an additional charge of $10 for each person over the 100 guests.
Charges for catered meals are in addition to these basic costs and although TAIGA VENTURES is not involved in these negotiations, we will accommodate your caterer's needs to the best of our ability to make certain that your wedding is as perfect as you deserve.
